Dave (Pickled Fish) was the first long standing drummer for Pearl Jam. He was introduced to Pearl Jam from Matt Chamberlin. Dave had never heard of Pearl Jam so he went to his local radio station (in Texas) and asked them to play some singles for him. All they had was the Alive CD Promo with the songs "Wash", "Alive" and "I've Got A Feeling". The next week he was on his way to Seattle, WA to see a show (August 03, 1991--filming for the "Alive" Video). Dave has played about 200 shows spanning four years (08\23\91 - 04\17\94). He can be seen in the "Even Flow" video, "MTV unplugged," and on the various "Saturday Night Live" performances. He can also be heard on the Vs and Vitalogy albums. Dave was fired (during breakfast, and for reasons unknown) before Vitalogy was released. He was greatly missed by Pearl Jam fan's everywhere.
